Romney's chances look better and better everyday! I hope Senator McCain makes the RIGHT choice and picks the best man for the job, Gov. Mitt Romney! McCain/ Romney '08!
cc from bethany beach, DE
Mitt's the one in charge of the economy! I'm from Delaware....Biden is a joke!
Jorge from Fort Myers, FL
I am a registered Democrat and if you pick Mitt as your running mate I will change my registration to Republican and support you both. I believe that Mit Romney will help you get the economy back in shape. His experience on the subject of economics speaks much louder than yours. Do your self a favor. Pick Mitt Romney!
GySgt Philip Fowler USMC (Ret.) from Monrovia, IN
There's only one Republican that John McCain can select for VP that could crush Biden in a debate. Wouldn't you know it, his name just happens to MITT ROMNEY!! Senator McCain, if you read this, please do what it takes to win and lead America for the next 4 years: put Mitt Romney on the ticket this Friday!!! Semper fi....
Douglas M White from Houston, TX
It has to be Mitt!! It has to be!! There is absolutely there no other way to get my vote! GO MITT-GO MCCAIN! NO MITT- NO MCCAIN!!!!!!!!
neil parga from costa mesa, CA
I am EXTREMELY CONFIDENT after Obama selected Biden as veep tonight that John McCain will definitely pick Mitt Romney because Romney is an excellent debater and a great attack dog against Obama.
Mark Halperin of Time was probably premature stating McCain had chosen Romney, BUT the tea leaves look great for Romney to be picked.
neil parga from costa mesa, CA
Romney will be the veep !!!!!!!!!!!
Mark Halperin from Time magazine broke the news early Friday morning that 2 reliable sources in McCain camp say it is Romney !!!
Please google it or wait for the news later in the day.
God Bless
Gary from Columbus, OH
Mitt Romney's economic experience and business savvy are a perfect complement to Senator McCain's foreign policy expertise. Each will prevail in their respective debates. Moreover, McCain voters recognize that any potential VP candidate must be presidential. Mitt fits the mold.
Philip from Monrovia, IN
John McCain should have no dilemma in selecting a running mate. It's clear who would be the best choice. Leiberman? No, he's not even a Republican. Ridge? No, he's no conservative enough. Portman? No, too obscure. Palin? Jindal? No, they are future superstars. Maybe 2016, but not 2008. Huckabee? Nope. His judgment came into question when he refused to concede the GOP race that was already McCain's. Lotta 'no's' there. Hmmm. What John needs is someone who has executive experience. Someone who has demonstrated economic skills. Someone who can handle a crisis. Someone whose character is above approach. Someone who can debate well. Someone well-spoken, highly-skilled and already vetted. John McCain, there's someone who fits this bill perfectly! Mitt ROMNEY!!! This is a NO-BRAINER, John! Complement your skills as a leader by adding another leader to the ticket. PICK MITT ROMNEY! And Michigan, New Hampshire, Colorado, Nevada, maybe even Wisconsin could all be GOP red on November 5th!
Larry from St. Louis, MO
Note to McCain: Pick Ridge or Joe L. and you can expect me not to vote and no contributions.
neil parga from costa mesa, CA
I hope McCain picks Romney on August 29th in front of 10,000 Ohioans.
Picking Pawlenty is a MISTAKE.
Seiko from Peoria, AZ
I strongly support Mitt Romney to be Mccain's VP choice!! Mccain is not my favorite person but comparison to Obama, Mccain is my choice! If Mitt Romney will be Mccain's VP, that gives me more excitement to Nov. Election!!
I pray every day that the Lord will lead Mccain to choose Mitt as his VP!
Then he will be the President in 2012!!
Go Mitt!! Go Mccain!!
bill from lunenburg, MA
Mitt would be a great candidate. Knows the economy, smart guy!
Mike W from Dallas, TX
As an attendee to the Texas Republican Convention in Houston this year I can say that Mitt was big item and McCain "literally" did not show. Mitt sold out a fund raiser and several Mitt for VP buttons were on display !
Carl from Naperville, IL
Susan P. from Carmel , IN, Thanks for the compliment. You too, have great points. Well they're still at it. Now the Liberal media says, "Romney won't energize conservative Christians to come out and vote!" Why do they think that? Do they believe all Christians are blind to the issues and to what is at stake? Do they believe all Christians are fools? Do they beleive we are selecting a Pope? This is a Political election not a religious election. Mitt Romney is a good man, an intelligent well spoken and vetted candidate with experience and talent...Period. Do they think that the Democratic opponent of questionable religious background won't energize Chistians to Vote Republican? Again the Liberal media is scared of a McCain/Romney power ticket & are trying to discourge McCain from choosing him. Well THIS Christian Republican won't be energized, UNLESS Romney is selected as Veep. So take that..Liberal Media! MITT is IT!
Cora E. Chambers from Timberlake, NC
Mitt Romney, will make a better VP than any other person, he a real smart person and he has Character and a real nice family, which would make the White House shape up and look great. Mitt, made a good Gov. and he knows his busines, Mitt will always be my choice no matter what. Mitt to be VP is the only way I will VOTE or DONATE. So I am waiting to see what McCain do. Joe Lieberman is not a Rep. He is Dem. So McCain if you wont my vote you will pick Mitt for VP.
Rob from Fort Lauderdale, FL
I can barely stomach Huckabee and his continued hatred for Romney; “I think a lot of people, not just social conservatives, but a lot of the Republicans I know are not necessarily comfortable with Romney,” he said in an interview with CBS News. “But it has nothing to do with religion. It has everything to do with inconsistencies in positions he’s held, and that’s it.” A statement from Mike Huckabee to CBS News and posted on the Fox News website...never mind that Huckabee has or had several ethics investigations while Governor of Arkansas. GO ROMNEY!!!!!!!
Melinda from Vero Beach, FL
Winning Strategy for McCain if you're reading!
Appoint Romney as VP with "new powers as position as VP -- the "Economic Czar" who will deal with Treasury Secretary AND Michigan to rebuild the auto industry in America (ie. his father governorship of Michigan)! McCain is going to now take Massachusetts, Michigan, Utah and more! (McCain do NOT listen to media they are trying to sabotage the winning ticket McCain/Mitt!)
Melinda from Vero Beach, FL
Mitt Romney is the best choice for VP! I worked ono his campaign and saw how people were so thilled and impressed with his "oratory ease, clear expression of the facts, and outside DC thinking and problem-solving. I believe he is the candidate most feared by the Democrats and they should - he's Presidential, wholesome, and we need an economic brain now more than ever! Let's all hope - he's the best and most exciting choice!
Russ from Royal City, WA
I believe McCain is our best bet to keep our country safe, and I believe Mitt will rescue our economy. McCain/Romney ticket is one I would support, and campain for.
Lisa from Murrysville, PA
If John McCain wants to win, he needs Mitt Romney. I know Democrats who would vote for McCain/Romney and abandon their party because "It's the Economy Stupid".
Susan P. from Carmel , IN
Carl from Naperville made a great observation -- the liberal media is very fearful of Romney being McCain's VP pick as they know they'd most likely win! Far too many people rely on the lamestream media to get their info which is sad. There are so many great websites that are very informative on the internet and people should utilize those. My husband and I will be voting for McCain regardless of whom he chooses, but if Romney's on the ticket, we will be PSYCHED McCain/Romney! A winning combination!
AmericanWoman, NC
The Republicans have already blown it with me by using slander and white supremacists supporting Huckafraud to bumrush McCain on us as the candidate. His campaign was all over the internet with their bigotry against Romney in the primaries, too. The KKK does not speak for all evangelicals, YOU IDIOTS. Afraid of losing their votes? If this party continues to cater to them, they will LOSE ME. There's only one way out of what they just pulled and we shouldn't have to spell it out to any decent person. That is not my America, it is not how my grandfathers and grandmothers behaved, they fought in the Revolution and my family can speak for themselves. I really don't care if he picks Romney, Romney will only dirty his hands with that crew. They aren't fit to shine his shoes. CASE CLOSED.
Carl from Naperville, IL
I've noticed that the liberal media is trying very hard to dissuade McCain from choosing Romney, as we get closer and closer to having a Vice Presidential choice made . Pay close attention to the media, as THEY try to choose our Republican Vice Presidential nominee. They played games in the primaries and influenced voters and the outcome(remember...why vote? Rudy's gonna win it all!?), & they are playing games now. The liberal Media praised McCain when they thought he could not win. However, as soon as he was the presumptive nominee they unleashed all kinds of negative press on him. The only difference now is that the general public is not voting for V.P. and McCain knows precisely what they did to him. They are very afraid of a McCain/Romney ticket...very afraid. Soon, however, they will have to accept that MITT IS IT!
Jane from Atlanta, GA
And most importantly, MITT HAS A WONDERFUL FAMILY....
Jane from Atlanta, GA
I really hope McCain is reading these because he will understand how passionate we would like to see our country led by a American Hero and an American who has family values and amazing Economic knowledge. What better for our "folks" someone to protect us and someone who knows how we can better ourselves financially.....
Jane from Atlanta, GA
After just reading the comments for the first time....I'm a Mitt lst time around supporter and couldn't be happier if McCain chose him a he REALLY is the best AMERICAN for the job...especially with the crazy economy.
I really hope McCain sees all this support and will see this is a WINNING ticket for all Americans...and I will definitely be out there and contributing what I can for our future. Thanks whoever created this as I have always thought this after Romney was unfortunately unseated, he really is the best.
Jane from Atlanta, GA
Go Mitt....wanted you for President, but you know you really are the best for VP!!!!!! Love the signs and hope McCain "sees the light", HA...
Heres to M & M!!!!
SALLY from TRAVERSE CITY, MI
MY HUBAND AND MY WHOLE FAMILY WANT MITT AS VP. HE WILL GET MCCAIN THE WH MCCAIN NEEDS TO CHOOSE HIM PRONTO! MCCAINS DONATIONS WILL FLOOD IN AS SOON AS HE PICKS MITT.
SALLY from TRAVERSE CITY, MI
MY HUBAND AND MY WHOLE FAMILY WANT MITT AS VP. HE WILL GET MCCAIN THE WH MCCAIN NEEDS TO CHOOSE HIM PRONTO!
Paul from Harper Woods, MI
No more $$$ for the RNC until I see Mitt listed as the VP...
April from Bonita Springs , FL
Sen. McCain's campaign keeps calling my house and sending me donation requests through the US mail and I keep telling him the same thing over and over -- NOT UNLESS MITT ROMNEY IS YOUR VP PICK! I know many conservatives who feel this way. If it's the "economy stupid" then Romney is the clear choice. Besides, the man would class up the WH along with his very lovely family. If not in 08, then Mitt will run for pres. in 2012, but our country cannot afford four miserable years of an Obama administration! I remember the Carter administration all too well and I believe Obama would make him look conservative! MCCAIN/ROMNEY 08!!!
R Biddulph from Centennial, CO
Mitt Romney is uniquely qualified to tackle our country's economic and fiscal issues: devaluation of the dollar, out-of-control spending, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. Mitt has turned around companies (Staples, Home Depot, etc.), the Olympics, and the State of Massachusetts. When you add to that conservative social values, and an exemplary personal and family life - - He's the best choice for McCain’s Number Two.
Mitt Romney has the right qualifications (the only one with non-governmental (Bain, Olympics) leadership experience, a deep-seated faith, a vision for this country's future, and an exemplary personal and family life. He won most of the GOP debates.
Mitt has the organizational skills to help MCain run a campaign in the general election and run the country. Obama has never even run a lemonade stand. Mitt would appeal to the Independents and some Democrats for his unique qualifications in these times of economic uncertainty.
PCN from Murrysville, PA
Romney is the only one who can get the party excited and motivated for the election. Any other pick would be nothing but a disappointment. If McCain wants people to rally around him he needs Romney. McCain/Romney'08
SALLY from TRAVERSE CITY, MI
WE ALL LOVE MITT ROMNEY. WE NEED HIM TO BE VP. MCCAIN NEEDS MITT TO WIN.
Joe from Montauk, NY
With Mitt on board we have a winning ticket.
Richard from Galveston, TX
If Mitt Runs with McCain then I will contribute money to their campaign
Mary from Milton , MA
Gov. Mitt Romney was a great governor and turned around the $3 BILLION deficit the Democrats created! He was my choice for president, but I'll take VP. As a conservative, I'd be thrilled and feel a lot more comfortable with him in the WH if McCain wins. If McCain doesn't pick a good strong conservative, and soon, it's all over for McCain. This country cannot afford a Pres. Obama!!!
wilmalathrup from durham, NC
Now all of us Romney for Pres. supporters have a second chance. Objections to McCain's age and questionable health status would be eliminated. The only logical answer to the dismal state of the U.S. economy is Mitt. Let's get behind our man's run for the White House!
di Ann Herschberg from South Padre Island, TX
Mitt on the ticket is the "ONLY" way to fly!!! He has the brains, charisma, experience and family values to make Mc Cain the Winning Ticket!!! GO MITT!!!
JoAnne Smith from Goodyear, AZ
I donated dollars to Mitt's campaign for the Presidency. I will donate more when John McCain announces Mitt as his running mate. Mitt Romney is the shot in the arm that McCain needs to win this election. We definitely need a SURGE in the economy and Mitt will bring the skills to make it happen. If all of the so called Evangelicals would just look at how Mitt has lived his life and raised his beautiful family they would see one of God's best creations. I am not Morman but I am so proud of how this man his lived his life and all that he has accomplished. The majority of my friends are college graduates like myself and nearly all of them believe that Mitt Romney would be the best choice for John McCain.
Sincerely,
JoAnne Smith
Renae from Gilbert, , AZ
This is wonderful! Having Mitt Romney on the ticket would energize many of us who would love to have a really good reason to vote for McCain. I would actually donate to the campaign again. Mitt Romney is an intelligent leader! We need Mitt Romney!!
margaret from Las Vegas,, NV
It should be McCain/Mitt Romney all the way. I was so terribly disappointed when Mr. Romney left the presidential primary; however, I believe he had good reasons. Now, I believe he is the only, only, only good choice for Vice President. He shines far above all the rest. I have never given money to a presidential campaign before this one and that was for the support of Mitt Romney. I will continue that if I can support him in the presidential election. He is a wonderful man of service to his country and his fellow Americans.
Anne from Knoxville, TN
If Mitt goes in as Veep, will he still be able to run for Prez next election?
Eleanor from Fresh Meadows, NY
I WILL DONATE BIGTIME if and only if ROMNEY IS ON THE TICKET. Senator McCain, forget nominating a "friend" like Lieberman. Nice guy but you will lose. Save a Cabinet position for him if you have to. ROMNEY'S ECONOMIC ACUMEN, HIS FINANCIAL BASE, HIS APPEAL AND LIKEABILITY, HIS COMPETENCY, his NOTORIETY, his is the OBVIOUS CHOICE! DOES ANYONE KNOW IF MCCAIN WILL READ THESE COMMENTS? WILL ANYONE SEND HIM THESE OPINIONS?
JOANNE from WHITESTONE, NY
How can I get t-shirts or buttons? How can we let the McCain camp know that picking Liberman (which I heard yesterday) would be a DISASTER! Romney is the winning ticket! I already called McCain but everyone must. CAN'T SOMEONE COORIDINATE our efforts to tell McCain that his constituency want ROMNEY AS V.P.?
Jake from Atlanta, GA
I have seen a few Mitt for VP bumper stickers in Atlanta too. I think he would be the best choice......by far!
Larry Wilkinson from Los Angeles, CA
This country needs a business person in the halls of power to lead our economy. Mitt successfully created so many business opportunities who could be better. But think of a McCain leadership on Military and Foreign Policy and a Romney leadership on trade and economy. What a dream team that would be.
ted bertrand from grant, MI
Iam from Michigan and McCain-Romney ticket is a winner.Do not kick yourself in the morning by not naming him your VP candidate.Iam ready to donate if this is the ticket.
Anton Lazzaro from Los Angeles, CA
To ensure future strength of the U.S. Economy, it is the OBVIOUS choice to select Mitt Romney as VP!
Philip from Monrovia, IN
RealClearPolitics has a posting that states Mitt for Veep signs "have been spotted around McCain's Virginia HQ and in Washington". Apparently, there's a lot of McCain supporters who agree that Romney would be the best choice for VP! McCain-Romney '08 would be a winner!
Aaron from Mesa, AZ
I just saw a comment of an evangelical saying "evangelicals know a phony when they see one". He was responding to an article calling the disguised anti Romney forces religious bigots. Evidently, he did not like that. Should these inconsistencies tell us it's really bigotry? You know, if there going to be decieved about Romneys record, FINE! But if there so smart as to judge people character, than can't they be smart enough to know that he has been a victam, to bigotry, by and large coming from evangelicals."SOME OF THEM" Hardly any of them admit it and quikly turn it into a matter of how principled they are and Romneys not. Is it just me, or alot of other Americans sick of this twisted ,dishonest, holier than thou bull crap. I'll let all who are smart and good judge forthemselves.
Paul from Brighton, MI
Dear John, I am a Republican. You will get my vote. Pick Mitt as Veep and you get a larger campaign donation and my time to get the two of you into office. Pick soon!
Roger from Mount Vernon, WA
I'm a long time Republican. That said, about the only way Mc Cain is going to get my vote is to have Romney as his Vice President Candidate.
Kelly from Orem, UT
Here's a thought for the McCain advisors:
In 2002, Mitt Romney led the Winter Olympics out of scandal and debt to success and surplus revenue and he donated his salary. Romney was raised with core values that naturally breed success and everything in his character illustrates his desire to serve the greater good and not self interests. His father instilled those values and Mr. Romney carries the torch to his progenitors. The jealousy and resentment for anyone who formulates honest success in this country runs rampant. It continues to amaze me how true integrity can be painted with such a flippant dubiousness brush as something else so easily. Most people view the world through the glasses of their own paradigm and, unfortunately few understand what motivates Mitt Romney until they possess such altruism themselves.
Mitt Romney is the right choice for John McCain as Vice President.
Here's a possibility worth considering: I understand that Romney plans to attend the Summer Olympics in China. What better time for McCain to announce Romney as his Vice Presidential choice. Media will push for interviews that, if granted, Romney will probably acknowledge the nod and, with grace, turn the focus back to the importance of the Games that he knows all too well.
It would be a correlating announcement with worldwide interest and a very appropriate answer to Obama's Public Relations tour.
Steve from Cleveland, OH
It doesn't look like we will know the VP until the beginning of August. I understand the reasoning but we need some excitement in this campaign soon. It sure doesn't feel like an election year. We need Romney NOW!
Rob from Fort Lauderdale, FL
I just returned from a business trip in Stuttgart, Germany where I had the pleasure of meeting a few US Soldiers on leave. All had completed a minimum of two tours in Iraq and were enthusiastic about meeting someone from stateside. After buying them a few well deserved local brews, I inquired about their thoughts with regard to Obama's position on ending the US presence in Iraq within 16 months..all stated the same thing, "We do not want to leave until we have finished our job"! All stated that the progress in rebuilding Iraq has been huge, but they are angry because they see or hear nothing about the progress in Iraq. When I asked who they would like for their next President, the answer was an overwhelming "John McCain." When I asked about their Vice Presidential choice, their answer was an overwhelming "Mitt Romney." The men I met were career military and were very proud of the progress they were making in Iraq...none wanted to leave, and more importantly, none want Barack Obama as their "Commander In Chief."
Aggie from palm Desert, CA
As soon as Mitt is named as VP, I will start sending in my checks. But I don't think he should be announced until the last minute. I don't want the negative bloggers ruining his chances. Mitt's family life, honesty about his faith, and his strong desire to serve have won me over. His humility is in big contrast to Obama's over the top ego -- and exactly what has Barack actually accomplished?
K.G. from Jamul, CA
What Fun!...
...to sic Mitt Vicious on Batty Barry and his nutty economic and energy plans.
Not Portland, not Palin, not Pawlenty, but the Mighty Mittster.
Mitt is older, taller, smarter and knows what he's talking about. His rapier fangs must be salivating at the thought of the soft, squishy, vulnerable underbelly of the wunderkind.
This could get good.
Sell Mitt as the White Knight for the economy and the common man. Obama's policies will hurt us all. Mitt can make the case better than anyone.
Philip from Monrovia, IN
Jay Cost of RealClearPolitics says this morning that McCain should pick Romney for veep! Let's let them know the ball has started rolling at www.JohnMcCain.com!!
Philip from Monrovia, IN
No matter how you look at it, the ONLY logic choice for John McCain to put on the ticket is Mitt Romney. I like Palin and Jindal, but they are too new. Ridge can't win Pennsylvania. Crist is no help as Florida is already trending GOP. Huckabee is no help since the South will already go McCain. Pawlenty isn't heavy enough to pull Minnesota (a state that didn't even go for Reagan). That leaves Romney. He could pull New Hampshire, Michigan, Colorado and Nevada. He could make it a contest in Wisconsin, New Mexico and Massachusetts. If John McCain can't see that and put this solid, fiscally savvy, telegenic, strong debater on the ticket then we'll all be talking about Romney 2012 on the 5th of November.
Jim from Bloomfield Hills, MI
McCain needs Michigan....Michigan loves Mitt! It's a win-win!
Donna from Boston, MA
I like Mit romney. I think that he would bring a lot of voters. he was a good governor. I got my health insurance with hi health insurance reform in our state.
But if senator McCain won't pick Mit Romney, I think that his second choice shoukld be Alaska governor Sarah Palin.
Palin is for ANWR drilling.
Palin can bring the conservative prolife base back to board and energize them.
Palin is also going to attract many of heart broken women Clinton supporters in every single state.
If senator McCain puts a man, that person MUST be Mit Romney. But if he wants a difference and attention from the press, Alaska Governor SARAH PALIN for VP.
Carl from Naperville, IL
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge also in the mix? ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! According to Dick Morris on O'Reilly tonight, he feels that Ridge's pro-choice stance is no problem for the Conservative Ticket, yet feels that Romney's change of heart on that position long ago is damaging? What kind of logic is that? People do sometimes change their minds about what they believe in. No matter the reason, good people/intelligent people will even change things to make themselves better people from time to time. It's simply a good acceptable aspect of human nature. What is not acceptable, is someone who stands for something TODAY, that will not unite the party or bring conservatives out to vote. What's a Pawlenty anyway? Is that like Polenta? I like Polenta but I don't know if I like Pawlenty. What I mean to say is ... it's simply too late in the game to try to figure out what or whom it is, or to get this guy national exposure...even if he is a great guy. In one of my prior commentaries, I joked that the media would have a field day with Crist(also being considered for veep) being a single guy. Now he's getting married. Good thinking politically, but still a bit too late!!! Do you think these guys are reading these comments?
I've said it before & I'll say it again... This country needs Mitt more than he needs us! Mitt loves his country and is proud of it,as every American should be.
The Democratic candidate won't even put his hand over his heart for the National Athem. That's not the person I want running the country. It's simply disrespectful! My father and my uncles having fought in WWII would be outraged, to say the least. These were good honorable men whom helped preserve our country and freedom. These guys were and always will be my heros.
This country needs McCain/Romney now more than ever before! Both of these guys are true Patriots. McCain understands what is at stake globally & has served his country well. Romney is a person who understands the private sector, he knows the Economy, he understands what works and what does not & possesses the proven ability to turn things around when needed. He is someone with common sense, strong family values & conservative beliefs. He has a "can do" American attitude & is very articulate. It would be a complete missed opportunity to not have Mitt in the White House! OUR missed opportunity, not his! Let's get on with it already! Let's get on with MITT already!!
Gregory, VA
So do you think mccain's VP announcement is soon?
Maudie from Palm Desert, CA
Mitt would get a lot of Republicans more excited about voting. He is not only a great leader and a whizz on the economy -- he is a likeable guy. I admire the way he has handled himself throughout this campaign.
dee smith from mesa, AZ
The one and only best choice is Mitt. I know I will finally get excited about the campaign. John Mc cain is a fine man,but my whole family are pushing for Mitt Romney
KKSM from Sandy , UT
Mitt is by far the very best choice. It is encouraging to see all the polls that wupport this idea.
Seiko from peoria, AZ
My dream will come true soon! Can't wait! Mitt Romney seemed to be the VP choice of Mccain!!
God bless America!
Rob from Fort Lauderdale, FL
According to news reports, McCain will not announce his VP choice until after Obama announces his choice, could be another few weeks.
Carl from Naperville, IL
Illinois traditionally happens to be "Democrat country"(at least Chicago). Outside city limits, however, there is a large Republican base. Since most of our local news is controlled by Chicago media, we don't get to see McCain News all that often. Someone please tell me...Is John still running? I feel cut off from the rest of the country. Fox News helps, but is not enough, as is evident by the number of local Republicans/neighbors I hear talking of possibly voting Democrat. I feel that IL locals are unfairly being presented with one candidate's opinions and positions. I hope and pray McCain is getting air-time someplace, because we don't see it. Hopefully he'll SOON pick Romney for the V.P. slot and the Local News might be forced into admitting that there is still another viable candidate, with better ideas and a better platform, running. PRECIOUS TIME IS WASTING!!!" We can't start a fire without a spark!" Pick Mitt and Let's get THIS PARTY started!!!!!G.O.P in 2008!
Ryan from Dayton, OH
We NEED Mitt!!!
George from Madison Heights, MI
Mitt spoke at the John McCain Great Lakes regional headquarters grand opening Monday July 14th. Even people who did not support Mitt in the primary mentioned how they were impressed by his charisma and speaking ability.
Seiko from peoria, AZ
I'm very disappointed on the issue on Mccain about the adoption of guy couples. Sometimes it's so hard to choose Mccain due to he is Not represented Republican party well and Mitt Romney does much better and Hope Mitt will run for President in the year of 2012. Reluctantly, we will vote for Mccain but my heart is saying No! But better off than Obama the socialist.
Seiko from peoria, AZ
I'M WONDERING WHEN MCCAIN WILL CHOOSE HIS VP? HOPE HE WILL DECIDE SOON!
I'D LIKE TO SEE "M & M" TICKET!
GO MITT! GO TRUE REPUBLICAN!
K.G. from San Diego, CA
Mitt is elegant, urbane, articulate and would walk large on the world stage. Of course, he speaks French and no doubt some Spanish. We know his son does, so Barack would have no reason to be "ashamed" by being represented by the quick, brilliant Romney in the international community.
Jeff from Dickson City, PA
If McCain wants my vote, Romney has to be the VP choice. Otherwise, I will sit home and watch the election between two two lesser candidates.
nancy from boulder, WY
I don't trust McCain without Romney!
greg, VA
are we jetting closer to mccain's vp announcement or is going to now wait till after obama?
Vincent from Philadelphia, PA
IF McCain DOES NOT PICK ROMNEY, HE COULD KISS GOODBYE MY FINANCIAL SUPPORT AS WELL AS ALL FAMILY AND FRIENDS $UPPORT, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY OUR VOTES.
IF THE COUNTRY IS TO GO TO HELL IN A HANDBASKET THAN LET OBAMA BE AT THE HELM. WE DISLIKE McCAIN and ONLY ROMNEY CAN BRING US BACK INTO THE REPUBLICAN FOLD.
Philip from Monrovia, IN
Mitt Romney wins MSNBC's Republican Veepstakes!
CJ from Wilmington, MA
1 word! WINNER! John stop waiting and just do it! It is a no brainer!
Juanita Stone from Cleveland, TN
I strongly support Mitt for VP. There is no doubt he is the best choice. I will support McCain if ROMNEY is the one. It will be very hard to go the polls if he is not picked.
Sue Harris from Roanoke Rapids, NC
Mitt Romney will make a great VP.He's the only hope for the economy which I'm very concerned about.
LCW from Pittsburgh, PA
To me,it is unthinkable for John McCain to choose any one but Mitt
Romney. Honestly and respectfully, if he is too dumb to choose Mitt--he is too dumb to be president.
Sandra from Bissell, MA
Mitt is a great choice for VEEP. Let's get on with it!
JoElla from Green Cove Springs, FL
I pray McCain is smart enough and not too proud to pick Romney. I could get excited about this election and feel more positive about the future if Romney was on the ticket. Come on McCain...be smart. Your sanctimony is disgusting.
Lauren M. from Naples , FL
As a conservative, registered Republican, I have never been so frustrated with the choice of a candidate we have now, in John McCain, and I hear this from many, many conservatives who've even stated they will sit this election out. I will not; the country cannot afford to have a Pres. Obama. If Romney were on the ticket it would completely energize the GOP base and get the support of many Independents and many conservative Democrats. I just hope that McCain doesn't wait too long. He's starting to look like Bob Dole '96 and once it's past a point of no return, that's it. PICK ROMNEY NOW!!!!!
Jim from Bonita Springs , FL
If the economy is the number one concern to most Americans, then the obvious choice is Mitt Romney! Please call the RNC and tell them you want Mitt Romney as the VP running mate of Sen. McCain. They've called me several times asking for donations and I tell them the same thing everytime -- not until he chooses Mitt Romney as his running mate! RNC: 202.863.8500
April H. from Bonita Springs , FL
Gov. Mitt Romney is the only REAL choice for McCain! Romney was my former governor and we voted for him in 2002. He did a great job all the way around as governor of Mass. He eliminated the $3 BILLION deficit the tax and spend liberals created, all without raising taxes. He was tough on illegals -- no instate tuition, no "pathway to amnesty" and just before he left, he signed an executive order that allowed the state police to question the legal residency status of persons arrested and to detain them if they were here illegally. He would be a great balance to the RINO that is McCain!
Mike from Tigard, OR
I just got a letter from Romney asking for a donation to McCain's campaign. I mailed back just a note saying I would make a donation if McCain names Romney as VP.

There's a blog on the WashPost called The Fix by Chris Cillizza. Today he posted "The Case for Romney" as VP. I knew Mitt could pull in Michigan and New Hampshire into the McCain column, But I didn't realize Mitt's sway in Colorado and Nevada, two states where he's ascended to 'rock star' status. These are all swing states in this election and they could all be in the McCain-Romney column. I hope everyone is hitting johnmccain.com and expressing their desire for Mitt Romney on the ticket!
Bill from Boston, MA
Gov Romney looks and acts like a President or Vice President. Mitt will bring the majority of Republicans back to the voting booth. Gov Romney will also bring in money for the Presidential surge and the figure quoted 5 to 6 million will be more like10 or more million for the Republican coffers. His success in Business ventures will also be an asset for all voters Democratrs or Republicans.
Shanna from Lawrenceburg, IN
Romey is the best choice! McCain on defense and Romney on the economy....it's a great combination.
Joe from West Lafayette, IN
Mitt is the perfect compliment to offset McCain's perceived weaknesses.
MIKE from SPRINGVILLE, UT
I am a Republican AND the only way I will vote for McCain is if Mitt Romney is his running mate as Vice President.
Ricardo Castillo from Gainesville, FL
Shaun from Lafayette, IN
Mitt is best for these reasons:
1) He's clean (it's a been a while since we've had such a candidate..)
2) He's a master of economics (has America ever needed this more?
3) He's able to raise money (he proved this in the primaries...)
4) He's a social and fiscal conservative (we need the conservative base)
5) He's proven and experienced (he's had more public and private leadership experience than anyone who ran for president this year and a long track record of success to show for it)
6) Despite what the liberal media tried to do to him, he ran a clean campaign decisively on the issues while others drifted into reglious and other issues not belonging in politics.
7) Whether people hate or like his religion, he has the integrity to defend his faith against those who would demean him for it or suggest (bigotedly) that he not be elected as a result of it.
Sunny from Palm Desert, CA
Romney is the BEST choice and the ONLY choice! The McCain ticket needs his strength...and America needs him.
Blair from Rockford, MI
If McCain picks Romney as VP, I will ACTIVELY campaign for the ticket. Otherwise, McCain just gets my vote. We need Romney's business acumen. Put him in charge of an Energy Independence Manhattan Project so it will happen!
Cathy from Manchester, NH
If McCain can get past the "ego" issues, Romney is the obvious best choice. With Romney, the ticket will garner passionate support coast to coast. Without Romney, the ticket will truly only draw Republic die-hard support AND votes against Obama. Wouldn't it be great to see the predicted landslide actually go in McCain's favor!!???! With Romney, it will. I truly want to vote FOR someone this November. Romney as VP would give us that.
Ben from Greenville, SC
I will contribute at least $1000. if Romney is on the ticket.
John from Burlingame, CA
KKSM from UT advised us to hit cpac@conservative.org, chairman@gop.org, www.committedtoromney.com,www.unitedthegop.com to tell them that we want Gov. Romney to be Sen. McCain's running mate. Sen. McCain must choose Gov. Romney because he's a strong campaigner and fundraiser and would clean the clock of any Democrat in a debate. A Mormon in the White House? by Hugh Hewitt is a great read and is only $5.59 on amazon.com.
FowlerUSMC from Monrovia, IN
"Romney Tops McCain's VP list!" that's what the headline reads on the Politico website this morning! C'mon everyone, start hitting the McCain website and calling for Mitt Romney to be his pick for certain!!
Janet from Albuquerque, NM
This combination is the winner!!!!!
FowlerUSMC from Monrovia, IN
I took the advice of John from Burlingame, Ca...I went to www.johnmccain.com and selected ACTION then went to the bottom and clicked on "Contact Us". I chose "Tell us about an event", then I left my name and number and asked them to read www.mittforveep.com. I believe if John McCain saw this site, his decision would be made: McCain-Romney '08 !
Carl from Naperville, IL
Rob from FL,
I respect your opinion, & understand how you feel. However, I also feel that this one is far too important to sit out! The world is much different than it was in the 1970's. You missed the scope of my point when I said. "I fear that much of the type of damage that could be done in four years, may be of the type that cannot be undone." If this country becomes weakened militarily or economically(or both), it's possible that damage could be catastrophic in nature. Perhaps the Ancient Mayan calandar ends at 12/21/12 for a reason? Seriously though, people believe it is a complete coincidence that nothing has happened since 9/11. How naive are they? We have men & women working around the clock to keep this country safe, we have the "bad guys" on the run(far away from our shores), thanks to "W" and the military. Can the situation be improved? yes; but it's less messed up than people are being lead to believe for political gain. Can the situation get worse? yes; an even greater possibility with a Democrat in the Whitehouse. Again, I implore anyone thinking about sitting this one out to re-think their decision. Even if not to think what could happen to the U.S.A., or the rest of the world. Think of the damage that will be done to your own back pocket. Every vote will count in November & we need yours! John from CA, I've taken your advice and gone to the McCain Website & commented. With the Economy now taking a front seat in the issues category, Romney would be the obvious choice. If Mitt is chosen for V.P. we can all celebrate for sure.
Seiko from peoria, AZ
I don't know why Mccain is waiting to pick Mitt Romney??
Mitt Romney is the only one who can trust and can bring Mccain a true Republican spirit. A marriage is on the threat and economy is going down.
Mitt Romney is a perfect person for Mccain!!
Hurry up and pick our Mitt Romney!
M & M Ticket 08'
John from Burlingame, CA
My fellow Romney supporters,
Let's go to johnmccain.com, click Action, then click Contact Us and let the McCain campaign team know that we want Mitt for veep. With Gov. Romney on the ticket, we will win!
Rob from Fort Lauderdale, FL
Make no mistake, Carl...I would welcome "Romney" as VP should he become McCains choice. I have met Romney a few times and you are indeed correct; he truly loves this country and wants nothing more than to serve his country, as did his father. However, time is running short for McCain to make a decision...with $250M in the bank, Obama is well ahead of McCain in fund raising...he has energized his Democratic base and McCain has yet to attract Republican Conservatives, including myself.
Should McCain select Romney as his VP, believe me, I will become an active and avid supporter...without Romney, I will sit this election out until 2012. I do not believe McCain has a chance without Romney.
Carl from Naperville, IL
Allowing the Democrats the opportunity to destroy the Country "ala Jimmy Carter", with a win in November, is not the answer. I've lived through that era of despair and would not like repeat. I too would like to see Mitt be President someday, but for now we need him in ANY capacity. Too much damage can be done in four years. I believe Mitt is willing to risk a potential loss, because he wants to help NOW and understands the sense of urgency. I believe Mitt loves this country, and would do anything(putting self aside) to set it on the right path as quickly as possible. He has already proven that with the class and manner with which he exited the race for President. The world is a much different place than it was in the 70's. I fear that much of the type of damage that could be done in four years, may be of the type that cannot be undone. We need some seriously effective experienced leadership now. Over the next four years, we need to be a stronger nation both Militarily and Economically. We the people cannot allow us to become a globally weaker nation. We need a McCain/Romney ticket!!! They can and WILL win with this combination. Especially when the people find that "the Emperor" has no clothes.
Rob from Fort Lauderdale, FL
McCain will have a very difficult time defeating the Obama juggernaut....Obama has outraised McCain 3 to 1 in campaign funds. For this reason, I hope McCain does NOT pick Romney for VP. Historicaly, VP candidates on losing tickets do not win Presidential elections. My belief is Obama will win the general election, destroy the country ala "Jimmy Carter," and Romney will clean Obama's clock ala Reagan vs. Carter (1980) in 2012.
Carl from Naperville, IL
All the speculation about V.P.'s other than Mitt is quite honestly getting depressing. The other "short listed" candidates for V.P. are basically unexciting options. They certainly won't have people racing to the polls to vote in November with high hopes and great expectations. They are unproven leaders, some young and inexperienced(much like the Democratic nominee, but even larger mysteries). No more Dan Quayle's please. One's a single male? And, how much fun will it be for the press to follow this guy's dating practices, past and present. I can just see the interviews with his former partners...C'mon let's be serious here. The country needs a proven charismatic experienced leader as second in command. This is no time for on-the-job training. It's about the Economy now in a big way! I guarantee the non-Mitts would bring down the Rebulican ticket. They are candidates that are "lack luster" & are for the most part unknown nationally. Too much time has passed, & there is virtually no way for these others to become known national entities. Even worse is what we may find out about them between now and November.
Mack, it's time to stop dwelling & do what's right for the Nation and the Party. As I'm sure you are aware, a large part of leadership is ability to MAKE a decision...so decide! No pressure, but millions of your Republican conservative constituents already have... Mitt's the man!!!
I pray the Dems don't decide on a V.P. first. It surely will not look good, if they make an announcement & you say that you are still thinking about it.
FowlerUSMC from Monrovia, IN
Can you imagine a better future for America than President McCain and Vice President Romney leading us in the right direction?? I can't. McCain-Romney '08, man that sure sounds like a WINNER!!!

Mitt is the only choice and the right choice!! I think we will pick up a lot of votes with Mitt on the ticket. McCain for security, Romney for economic issues, when McCain has completed his time as our President, Romney will campaign for his time for President!
John from Burlingame, CA
Gov. Romney is the obvious choice for Sen. McCain's running mate because he has the business/finance experience with Bain Capital, turned the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics from corruption and disaster into a tremendous success and brought prosperity to Massachusetts. He has the support of conservatives, such as Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, Doug Wilson, Rusty Humphries, Lars Larson, the editors of "National Review". Yo J Mac, please pick my man Mitt for veep!

Gary from Greensboro, NC
Mitt would bring a wealth of economic and business experience to the GOP ticket. Go Mitt.
Tim from Woonsocket, RI
I think that romney is clearly the best choice for VP. Due to Mccain's age the veep pick becomes especially important, and people will feel extremely comfortable with someone as qualified as Romney ready to step up. Also Romney has been thoroughly vetted already in the primary process.
Linda G. from Tampa, FL
I have been an Devoted Republican all my life. I hate what is going on in our beautiful country. I am also a true Floridian and I don't believe Charlie Crist is qualified for veep, he has lied to us and let us down. If McCain wants to win the GOP for President he had better chose Mitt Romney. He is not strong enough politically to beat Obama. Obama and the liberals will put the nails in the coffin, so to speak, in our trouble country. We need hard choices to correct our out of control problems we have here in this country. If anybody can do this job of such magnitude I think MITT ROMNEY is the kind of man that will make those choices. I am a dedicated Republican and it will be hard for me to vote for McCain/? other than Mitt.

I am a supporter of Mitt Romney for Veep and I have a bumper sticker on my truck in support of Mitt. Sound Choice. I would prefer it the other way around, but if anything should happen to the "old guy" Mitt certainly has what it takes to be presidential in my opinion. Most imporatntly, he has the experience to change this economy if Congress will listen and agree to help set this country on tract, within and outside our borders.
McCain and Mitt... it just makes sense!
They got my vote!

Carl from Naperville, IL
WAKE UP! Republicans are starting to lose interest in this election. The news is all about the Democrats. Mr. Mcain's quite campaigning needs a "shot in the arm!" It needs charisma! McCain needs Mitt & WE need Mitt! We need a reason to start RALLYING!!!! Senator McCain needs to get on it and pick Romney for V.P.!!! Valuable time is wasting. "A little less conversation, a little more action!" This country needs a McCain/Romney ticket to get motivated and to build momentum! What McCain does not need is some "no name-no talent" on his ticket. I've said it before & I'll say it again... This country needs Mitt more than he needs us! Mitt loves his country and is proud of it,as every American should be. This country needs him now more than ever before! He is a person who understands the private sector, he knows the Economy, he understands what works and what does not & possesses the proven ability to turn things around when needed. He is someone with common sense, strong family values & conservative beliefs. He has a "can do" American attitude & is very articulate. It would be a complete missed opportunity to not have Mitt in the White House! OUR missed opportunity, not his! Mitt Romney, was my choice for President! However, I believe he would make a fantastic VEEP! He'll make a great President in 2012, if John only goes one term . He's feared by Howard Dean...enough said?
Greg from Westlake, OH
I have prayed every day since Mitt dropped out for him to get the VP nod. It would do nothing to blunt McCain's appeal to independents, and maybe let the right(a group I proudly count myself a member of) let go of their noses and vote enthusiastically for the Republican Party's nominee!
Dal from Houston, TX
I attended the Romney Reunion in Houston, TX and it confirmed my belief the Mitt is the man for VP. Romney has the economic expertise, command of the issues, and communication skills needed on the Republican ticket. He is also prepared to step into the Presidency if needed, and that should be the #1 requirement for VP.
Justin from San Antonio, TX
If Romneey is picked as McCain's running mate, I will vote GOP, otherwise, I will vote 3rd party, go Mitt for VP!!
James from Fenton, MO
YES! You will watch as the media pushes for Huck,..they fear a McCain/Romney ticket!
FowlerUSMC from Monrovia, IN
After that meeting in Houston last week (bewteen Mitt & Mac's advisors), perhaps John McCain will realize that of his former rivals, only Mitt Romney has pitched in--and pitched in hard--to help McCain win in November! We need Governor Romney on the ticket with Senator McCain. That would get the total support of this family, That being 10 votes and donations. We need the McCain/Romney ticket in 08 to defeat the Dems and Obama.
Brett from Alan, CO
The only real ticket that can make it into the White House!
Gloria from Fort Collins, CO
Thanks for setting up this site. In our Colorado caucus we normally have 6 to 8 Republicans show up. This year we had 52. 37 of those first time caucus attendees voted for Romney. My neighbor said that this was the first time that he felt that there was a canidate worth supporting. My husband and I are Colorado state delegates. At our county meeting there was overwhelming support for Romney because of his business experience. My husband and I own a small business and we feel Romney would be a better President than Bush.

McCain/Romney would be the dream team!
Carl from Naperville, IL
I listen to conservative talk radio quite often. It seems that the general consensus is that John McCain is reaching out to a variety of "liberal" special interest groups. This is ok, except it would behoove him to start reaching out to conservative Republicans, relatively soon. They are feeling left out. Time is money & time is wasting. I understand the strategy against showing your hand to the opponent too soon. However, if McCain waits too long he may alienate many conservative Republicans(maybe a small hint that Mitt is the V.P. frontrunner would help?). Might McCain think that most Republicans will vote for him without having selected a conservative running mate? Surely a wise man would not be so arrogant, or proud to the point his own demise. I will be voting McCain, given the alternatives, but I don't believe I'm in the majority. McCain will need this majority to pull out a Victory this November. Picking Mitt for V.P. at the appropriate moment would be wise for many reasons & I do think McCain is wise enough to know this! At least I hope & pray he is!
FowlerUSMC from Monrovia, IN
Voted in the Indiana primary today----and pulled the lever for Mitt! This was a notice to John McCain that Mitt Romney is the RIGHT choice for VEEP!

I am a retired transplanted MA resident. Mitt's been our man from day one. Was sooooo dissapointed when he wasn't the GOP candidate. He would be a smart, caring and talented Vice pres.

If Mitt is not on the ticket with John McCain, I will be sitting out come November.

Mitt is the best pick for VP. He would bring lots of voters to the McCain campaign that would otherwise not vote for McCain. Voters want the whole package and Mitt brings that. Mitt's the man!

This is a great idea! I still have my "Mitt 08" bumper stickers, so give me the word and I'll hand a few out! Governor Romney would have been so much better as President, but Vice President is the next best thing.
Sally Trucker
Mary from Felton, DE
It is interesting to listen to the current candidates talk about the economic issues because all three are stealing Mitt's ideas.
Tiffany Maus from Austin, TX
I was one of the 5% who still voted for Mitt in the Texas primaries. I had to vote my conscience. If Mitt isn't on this ticket I am voting for Obama. It's not because I like him it's just there will be no viable choice. Republicans unite behind a true conservative. Vote for Mitt now or 2012!!
Jack from Greenville, OH
I like McCain and I respect what he has done for our country, but I am also looking at the big picture and the economy and future of our party are in need of help. I believe Mitt is the answer and I think he will change the role of the VP. Go Mitt!
Lisa from McLean, VA
If McCain can set his ego aside and make the right choice, it will obviously be Mitt. Mitt is the only candidate I have ever been willing to make a sacrifice of time and money to support. His integrity, intelligence and experience are unparalleled. We need Mitt and so does John McCain. Mitt for VP '08!! Mitt for President '12!!

There are truly less than a handful of people in the world with the experience, vision, ability, and leadership capacity necessary to turn around this country, and Mitt Romney is one of them! We need you Mitt! Thanks for your sacrifice on our behalf!
Bruce from Los Angeles, CA
I think a McCain/Romney ticket is a sure winner against anything the Dems can throw at us. I think it will give us strength from all angles. Besides, who else is as experienced at raising money besides Mitt? The McCain/Romney ticket will bring a united Republican front to face the Dems in November.
Matt from Oklahoma City, OK
Mitt would provide the balance that McCain needs in order to win. Romney is a strong leader. He has a great understanding of the economy and has a vision of America that truly brings hope to people.
John from Chicago, IL
Mitt would be a pitbull against either Democratic candidate!
John from Chicago, IL
Unfortunately I don't think McCain is smart enough or humble enough to add Mitt to the ticket. I supported Mitt with over $1000 and would do the same for McCain/Mitt. Without Mitt's fundraising, business savy, and conservative credentials, I don't think McCain can pull it out. Without Mitt, my fundraising and support will stay on the sidelines.

What is weak about Romney's foreign policy? Did you not hear his cpac talk and all the other times he strongly talked about what needs to be done to fight terrorism?
Never mind, that is really not why I am here. Thank you all for supporting Mitt. Please go here http://gopnation.com/wordpress/?page_id=357 and vote for Romney. Right now, Huckabee is ahead...
Sunil from Weston, CT
Go Romney. Great combination.
Bud from Huntington, WV
McCain knows foreign policy, where Romney is weak, and Romney knows the economy, where McCain is weak. This works! After four or eight years in the VP chair, Mitt will be more than ready for the top seat. I say go for it. (If McCain can handle a true conservative, that is...) This ticket I might just vote for...
Celest from Seattle, WA
McCain/Romney would truly be the dream team. So many conservatives were devastated when Romney dropped out of the race, if McCain picks Romney, he will energize that part of the base and the entire Republican party, and no one will work harder than Mitt to ensure the McCain ticket wins!
Mindy from Clay Creek, IA
If Mitt's on the ticket, I might change my mind about sitting this one out.
Alex from Scranton, PA
I was set to vote for Obama because I can't hold my nose and vote for John McCain, but if Mitt Romney is on the ticket, so is my "X".
This could actually work!
If Hillary & Obama keep fighting like old married folks, and McCain chooses Romney...hey! The GOP might actually WIN in November!!!
KJ from Pine Bluff, AR
The finest Christian I ever knew just passed, and I went to his funeral. Couldn't figure why it was held in a Mormon Church. Come to find he was Mormon! The man lived more like Jesus than anybody, and helped others who had strayed get bak to their own churches, be they Baptist or Catholic or whatever. Because of him I can vote for Mitt. I know he's a good man. God Bless you mitt. I hope MacCain gets some wisdom and picks you.
Leigh from San Jose, CA
McCain is not my choice, but between him and Obama or another Clinton fiasco, I have to go w/JohnyMac. Sure, it's just a bunch of funerals and window dressing, but it would put Mitt in line for the next election if McCain isn't up for it by 2012. Just one hint, PLEASE Mitt-I've seen your hair without the styling gel (when you helped out after the earthquake-without photographers to capture the moment) go for the longer, dryer, natural look! I doubt McCain has the guts to choose you, but he made it through a POW cell in Hanoi, so maybe he can do the right thing and pick someone taller than he is...at least I hope so. I'll vote for him if you're on his ticket.
Mike from Bowling Green, KY
Mitt is the ONLY qualified candidate who can turn this economy around. I hear 'slowdown' when I know it's never been worse. Any Democrat will bankrupt us. McCain needs a strong economic hand that can carry the south and east. Now that we all know the difference between real mormons and fake ones with lots of wives-remember when Mitt pointed out that he was the only guy on the stand with just one wife?-(sorry, Mitt, I was ignorant, okay?) We can stand solidly behind a ticket like McCain/Romney and know we can someday put bread, rice and corn on the table again. (I sold my car. Can't afford gas anymore.)
Dawn from Baltimore, MD

What a team this would be....If Mitt's name is not on the ticket I will write it in..Go Mitt & Ann.
CATHY LANE from GASTONIA, NC
WE NEED SOMEONE WITH MITT'S INTEGRITY AND EXPERIENCE IN MANAGEMENT TO HELP JOHN MCAIN.
Jaima from Apple Valley, CA
MITT WILL BRING INTEGRITY AND TRUE CONSERVATIVE VALUES BACK TO THE WHITE HOUSE. OUR COUNTRY DESERVES THE BEST, AND HE'S IT!!!!
Michael from Oceanside, CA
Its about time the Republican party started making positive decisions regarding the 2008 elections. Mitt was my first choice for the presidential election. Vice President works too.
R. Singer from Long Valley, NJ
Adding Mitt Romeny to the ticket would be GREAT for the party not to mention the whole country!!
Walsmith from Tulsa, OK
McCain's and Romney's strenths will compliment each other nicely and will result a stronger canidacy for McCain.
KKSM, UT
Ok, all you Mitt supporters, get on the email, snail mail and phone and communicate to John McCain that your support deepens if he has Mitt on the ticket. Mitt is too good of a man to not be in there and there is way too much at stake! cpac@conservative.org; chairman@gop.org; http://www.johnmccain.com/Contact/ for fun websites that support this idea go to www.committedtoromney.com; www.unitethegop.com
Annie from Anchorage, AK
Mitt Romney not only has the intelligence and experience to get the country back on track, but he also espouses principles and values worthy of a true conservative. There are many Alaskans who would like to see Mitt as McCain's running mate. It would make the presidential campaign for more interesting and HOPEFUL..
Carolyn, VA
Mitt would make a great VP!If McCain wants my vote,he needs to pick a winner in lots of ways,Mitt Romney
Cindy from Garland, TX
The United States of America needs Mitt Romney in the Presidency ! There's no one else capable or qualified to get us out of the mess we are in AND to head us in the right direction....making America stronger than ever. He's our only hope !!
Cindy from Sterling Heights, MI
Mitt Romney is the only candidate who has ever motivated me to the point that I campaigned tirelessly for him and to whom I donated more than a token contribution. He's not only brilliant, but incredibly gracious and eloquent as well. He's exactly what our country needs, although I think he may outshine McCain, and McCain knows it. I can't imagine Mitt sitting in a high powered meeting and biting his tongue while McCain babbles on about some nonsense. I'm just here to support Romney in whatever he wants to do. But for me, too: No MItt, No Money, No McCain!
Janet from Coloma, MI
I think Mitt Romney would be a great choice as a Vice Presidential running mate. They would compliment each other in the areas that each one is weak in.
Donna De Sopo from Hendersonville , TN
Mitt should be on the ticket!!! It's the best option out there (My other choice is Fed Thompson of course) If McCain chooses C. Rice, he will surely lose it all. And we cannot have the Dems rule or we will be crushed with that insane Amnesty bill and more failed programs that kill the middle class. I want my country back! END ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION NOW!!!
Elizabeth from Alpharetta, GA
More than ever, we need a BUSINESS PERSON in DC. Mitt's dealt with turn-arounds before; he can do it again.
Walt from King of Prussia, PA
Mitt Romney will be the best choice for V.P. He has proven success in the business. He understands the economy better than anyone in politics and is pro-life and pro-America unlike the Democrats.
OCvoter from Irvine, CA
If Mc picks Mitt, I am voting in this Nov.
Stan from Citrus Heights, CA
I LIKE MITT
andy from jacksonville, FL
Mitt has the economic knowledge that McCain knowingly lacks. Not to mention the countless conservative values that are not an obvious stong point with Mr. McCain. Mitt Romney is a true conservative!
Rosie from Denver, CO
Seriously McCain, if you want to stand a chance against Hillary or Obama, you have got to pick Mitt as your running mate. He's the only one qualified to help get this economy under control.
Larry from New Athens, IL
This will not only get me to vote for John, BUT it will also get me back to being excited about this election!
Sukhveen K Ajrawat from Potomac, MD
I would strongly support Gov Mitt Romney for V.P position.
Scott Lake from BUENA PARK, CA
This is the only way I will vote for McCain.
Eddie from Spring Hill, FL
Mitt is the "Only Choice"
Michele from Tampa, FL
If McCain's advisors have a bit of sense, they will push to have Mitt for the VP slot. I was (and still am) a huge Mitt supporter. His being added to the ticket would solidify my voting for McCain in the fall.
Rachel from Wappingers Falls, NY
Mit gives a positive reassuring balance to McCain's sometimes tired stressful approach. He retained a lot of respect by gracefully bowing out of a losing race. He is knowledgeable and doesn't make mistakes so he's a reliable force. He's also not a dreamer or a socialist -which would be pretty scarey in these financially volatile times, with an ongoing war.
Susan Percy from Clifton , VA
I was 100% for Mitt; sadly got my autographed t-shirt the day AFTER he got out of the race but sure would like to use it (will add VP where applicable)! Also made small donation to McCain and noted that there would be more if Mitt were on the ticket. Incidentally, I wrote a letter to the editor, published in the Washington Post, regarding Romney's female opponent when he ran for governor of Massachusetts. Post writers kept running pieces suggesting that a remark he made about her behavior being "unbecoming" was sexist; I was tired of it. I noticed that after my letter appeared the pundits and columnists quit rehashing that silly theme. I'm a freelance writer; if I can help Governor Romney in ANY way along those lines, I hope this campaign will call on me! GO MITT FOR VP!
Rebecca from Danville, CA
Mitt compliments John McCain. He is the perfect pick for a winning ticket. They would be unbeatable.
Mohammad from Dearborn, MI
Mitt is obviously the best choice for VP due to our struggling economy, especially Michigan's. If not, I, and many other Michiganders would love to see him as governor.
KKSM, UT
Wayne from Kansas City, I completely feel your pain and angst. I also agree in large measure. However, by way of trying to give you some encouragement, I think Mitt could rise above nearly anything. I can also tell you that Mitt will only do what he feels really really good about. If it comes down to him really being asked, he would only do it if he knows it is right for him and the nation. He is a great man and he is a great decision maker... Let not your heart be troubled....
wayne from kansas city, AL
Mitt, I saw the affection you have for this country and it's people in your eyes and heard it in your voice. I think becoming McCains VP would be a mistake for you and 2012 presidency. McCain is going to tear this party to pieces and he could give a crap. You will be associated with him when this happens, and it will happen, which will make it tough for you to be our candidate in 2012. Don't muddy yourself by being his VP. He will not listen to you and all you will be doing is attending dinners and funerals for 4 years. He will do everything to use you but when he has what he wants you will be like Al Gore to the Clintons to him. He is a bad person when it comes to loyality so don't trust him or throw your next chance away at the presidency.
Lee from Lexington, KY
Without Mitt on the Ticket, I will sit this one out, save my money, and donate to Mitt in 4yrs.
Rob (again) from Fort Lauderdale, FL
If McCain does not select Romney for Vice President, I will write Romney in for President...I will NOT vote for McCain without Romney on the ticket! Furthermore, if McCain should add Huckabee to the ticket, I will vote Independant or Democrat in protest...then watch Romney sweep the election in 2012 as Reagan did in 1980 after losing to Ford in 1976.
di Ann Herschberg from South Padre Island, TX
Like many others, I was terribly disappointed when Mitt dropped out of the race but he was still on the Texas ballot and that is how I cast my vote! It will take an act of God for me to vote for Mc Cain...it will be much more palatable and sensible with Mitt on the ticket as VP! McCain was pushed down our throats.
wayne from kansas city, MO
Changed my mind Mitt, I am going to write your name in for president, I do not believe McCain deserves my vote or your support. I will begin being a Conservative Republican when McCain is out of the picture, right now I must remain just a Conservative. He slandered you and bad mouthed and undermined you through the entire primary process and yet now he supports Obama over his own party, that is why no one trust him that is a true conservative. We have already lost the presidency so it is time to concentrate on the Senate and Representatives.
FowlerUSMC from Monrovia, IN
This would be the best dream ticket since Reagan-Bush 1980!
Richard from East Peoria, IL
Mitt should have been the Presidential Nominee for the Conservative Republicans, but i'll take Veep till '12. Romney is the only TRUE conservative, put him on the ticket and you will have NO undecided Republicans, like you would with Huckabee or Guliani. You will bring the pro-war people, the fiscal conservatives, the TRUE Conservatives, the liberal Republicans, and all those in between with this ticket. McCAIN-ROMNEY '08!!! ROMNEY-REGAN '12 (Nancy)
Brian from Northridge, CA
The Economy is on everybody's mind. This is the reason Mitt is a best bet! Furthermore, as a staunch conservative it would relax my nerves and many others about McCain's more liberal tendencies.
Stan from Titusville, FL
Mitt is the right person to be VP. He would bring the economic background that is needed, and he would also energize the consertatives, and the fundraising. Ann and their family would be a great help and great example during the campaign. He is so smart and articulate, and is a great debater, which could be helpful. We definitely need Mitt!
Bryan from Clermont, FL
Mitt is the right man for the job! He balances the ticket with economic prowess, proven success, and a mantra for the RIGHT kind of change we need in Washington!
Courtney from Scales Mound, IL
Mac, pick Mitt! Mitt is brilliant, honest, energetic and a devoted family man with a squeaky clean past. He has shown that he is willing to work tirelessly for the good of our country and the Republican party. Mitt is the only VP choice who will energize and excite the party. The minute we hear that Mitt has been chosen for VP, our family will be sending McCain the maximum contribution. M & M '08!
Ralph from Ft. Myers, FL
McCain/Romney will be an unbeatable ticket! With McCain's foreign policy experience and Romney's economic expertice we can win in 08 with a true conservitive on the ballot!
CORA CHAMBERS from TIMBERLAKE, NC
MITT FOR VP THE BEST THING COULD HAPPEN. ANN AND MITT HAVE THE GOOD LOOKS TO BRING TO THE WHITE HOUSE, PLUS MITTS AND ANN GREAT PERSONALITY AND THE BUSINESS EXPERIENCE WOULD DO WONDERS TO JOHN MCCAIN TICKET, IF NOT MITT FOR VP THEN I WILL VOTE FOR OBAMA. MCCAIN NEED MITT TO HELP BOOST HIS CHANCES TO BE PRESIDENT. HE WAS A GREAT GOVONOR OF MASS. MITT CAN HELP RAISE ENOUGH MONEY FOR MCCAIN AND ROMNEY TICKET. GO MITT GO MITT AND GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
Cora Chambers from Timberlake, NC
I have been saying all along that McCain should pick Mitt as VP he is the MOST QUALIFIED AND HE IS EXPERIENCED and CAME CLOSE TO WINNING THE NUMBER ONE SPOT FOR PRESIDENT. Mitt and his wife Ann would be an execellent team for McCain and MOST HONEST and know the economy too. Thats the only way I will vote for McCain and I wrote a letter to McCain telling him just that and all the other Republicians, And I believe with all My Hearat and Soul that the only way McCain will win in November is to pick MITT as his VP.
Carl from Naperville, IL
John,
It'll be much easier to win the Ballgame, if you use your MITT!
Joe from Fresno, CA
This would take the sting out of my first choice for President. I would support this no question. This looks like the strongest ticket to beat the Democrats so i'm in. McCain-Romney.
Renna from Orlando, FL
Mitt Romney is the ONLY candidate who can strengthen the McCain ticket. He has been vetted, he is known - we do not have time between now and November to get to know and trust another candidate. He is prepared to step into the Presidency, if necessary. He has the type of strong family values this nation needs, he is an excellent communicator, he has the economic experience and he looks like a President we can be proud of. Until McCain chooses him as his VP we MUST send this message loudly and clearly to the McCain Campaign and the RNC, especially when they send requests for money - NO MITT< NO MONEY< NO MCCAIN
Rosemary Bonifacio from Macomb, MI
Wow!!!!
I just received a notice from the Republican Party wanting me to renew my membership dues. My answer to them was; "I do not even plan on voting in November....unless he picks Mitt Romney for his Vice President."
George from Madison Heights, MI
Romney brings charisma and energy to McCain's experience and reputation for integrity and sturdy leadership. A strong supporter of innovation and technology, Romney has what it takes to strengthen the American economy and reawaken America's characteristic optimism which is never far from the surface. America needs Mitt because there could not possibly be a better, more accomplished individual for the post.
Dawn from Thousand Oaks, CA
I'm still having challenges getting behind McCain as our GOP nominee and as our next U.S. President. What will definitely energize me and bring me back into the GOP fold is to see Mitt Romney as McCain's running mate. Because this will then position Romney as our GOP Presidential candidate in 2012! Mitt for Veep '08! Mitt for President '12!!
April from Bonita Springs , FL
As a former Mass. resident, I voted for Gov. Romney. He was an excellent governor who turned things around in that state! The liberals in Mass. loathe him as he represents the opposite of everything they believe in: tax and spend, pro choice, etc. He is a very principled person, has traditional values and is a good family man. He would bring a lot of class to the ticket and the WH! If McCain does not choose Rommey, I may sit this election out, the first ever for me! I vote in every election, local and federal.
Sandy J from Bend, OR
I am a Conservative and am having a hard time trying to convince myself to vote for McCain. He needs someone with Mitt's character & experience to balance out his temper, continual bashing of Bush and the Republican party, snide laugh and condesending tone, etc.
Christy from Baltimore, MD
Romney can RUN THINGS and he can help McCain RUN OUR COUNTRY! We can let McCain take a break and let Mitt do all the work!!
Anthony from Leonardo, NJ
I think Mitt Romney would be a great choice for VP. With McCain's experience and Romney's buisness savy, it makes perfect sense.
Merlin from Parker, CO
While most of the base will hold our collective noses and pull the McCain lever with any unknown ( or local star) VP on the ballot, Mitt is needed on the bottom of the ticket to activate the base, knock on doors, make the calls and write the checks required to win in November.
Mitt offers both the skill set, a committed True Conservative base and name recognition that no other prospective VP brings to the ticket. John desperately needs Mitt more than all the lefties he's counting on.
Bryan Armentor from Westlake, LA
If McCain wants to truly rally conservatives behind him, choosing Romney for veep would be a smart move.
DING from SUGAR GROVE, IL
GO MITT GO....Iam still mad at you for dropping the presidental race. You would have made a great president. The VP will be good training for you to take over in 2012.Help John get the country back on track especially the AUTO industry.Lets kick some of DEM-butts ! ! !
Doug from Island Lake , IL
Mitt is the obvious choice for VP with his extensive experience with economics, management, leadership and working within a government buracracy.
Anthony from Wayne, PA
Mitt is a great choice. He can talk to economic issues, support McCain on foreign policy, support conservative values, and communicate or debate the issues effectively. He would cement my support for John McCain.
Patricia from Yorba Linda, CA
Mitt Romney has everthing Senator John McCain needs to complete him. Mitt is young, intelligent, experienced, has charisma, and he would be welcomed by Conservatives. I would be very excited and inspired about the election with Mitt on the ticket. McCain/Romney. It's a dream ticket.
elizabeth from missoula, MT
Yes! Yes! Yes! Mitts the man, the right man for the job.
joan from carlsbad, CA
A wise and solid choice for a vice president. Would make a solid ticket with McCain and assure a definite win in the election.
Braden from Lakewood, WA
I would vote for this ticket.
Scott Frasca from Derry, NH
The two biggest issues are the war in Iraq and the economy. Sen. McCain has the credentials to discuss the war and Gov. Romney is the strongest voice on how to address economic issues. Compare that to the minor league of Obama/Clinton on those issues. Gov. Romney's strong support in the primary and ability to raise money places him above any other possible considerations for VP.
Brandon from Wakefield, MA
In these troubling economic times, America needs a leader well versed in the economy. Governor Mitt Romney is that man.
Jennifer from Denver, CO
A combination McCain/Romney ticket gives the Republicans the strength to win the White House in 2008. Mitt brings economic savvy and embellishes the ‘likeability’ and ‘uniformity’ elements Senator John McCain provides. This is one winning ticket.
Carolyn Scott from Clermont, FL
I used to be a Massachusetts resident, and Mitt was an outstanding governor. He would be a great right hand man for McCain!
Bill & Brenda from Marionville, MO
Should be the other way around but if that is the only way to get Mitt in White House it will have to do. I am still writing his name in as President.
Jan Peers from Spanish Fork, UT
Mitt, would be the absolute BEST choice for VP! McCain needs his experinece in the financial world to get us through this economic crisis. John, do the wise thing, Choose Mitt Romney as your running mate. McCain and Romney What a TEAM, the obvious choice, it would SEEM.
PCN from Pittsburgh, PA
Mitt Romney on the ticket is the only way McCain can win. People are feeling the effects of a slowing economy. The Dems will run ads quoting McCain's admission that the economy is not his strong point but he read Greenspans book. He needs to make it clear to the people that he picked Romney for this reason. Foreign policy & the economy will be the issues this fall. McCain and Romney on the same ticket will be hard to beat.
Sheryl from San Jose, CA
As Republicans we should start fielding people from our A team...you know, the ones that are in the economy, invent things, create businesses and grow the country. As Jay @ NRO said "Well, here is Romney, a clear member of our A team" so I see no need for the GOP to rumage thru other possible candidates that have yet to be vetted.
Mitt is a winner in general and he was McCain's biggest challenger. Plus he is the best person to be POTUS in the "heartbeat away" position!!
Kathryn from Putnam Valley, NY
Sen McCain's weakness in the Economy and Financial/Business Acumen will be more than balanced with Mitt Romney on the ticket. This is a GREAT team! The CEO (female) is a weakness in that she will also be the tie-breaker vote in Congress and needs for a lot of reasons to have intrinsic knowledge and experience in politics and how to work the government labrynth. Just being a woman won't cut it as 'historic'; the Economy is the #1 issue across America. McCain/Romney is strong and can delivery on promises to bring relief and growth across the board.
Jerry from Bennett, CO
Mitt would be an ideal VP if McCain would actually allow Mitt to take on a greater role as VP than that usually allocated to the VP. I certainly would feel that should Mitt have to take over as President we would have more than just a fill in. Mitt could easily step into the Presidency if necessary. This has nothing to do with age but more with the world we live in. Don't think that our president isn't a prime target.
TK from Alpharetta, GA
Mitt Romney is a true leader who would be the right choice to lead America!
Paulee from Monmouth, ME
We in my family would be delighted to have someone with Mccain's years of experience. His loyalty to this country, and the price he paid. We know he would serve us well in foreign policy and the Presidency. However, a man of business know how, been most successful in the private sector, debates so positively, well spoken, loves this country, is a man of grace,
looks totally professional, susp ended his Presidential run to jump on the bandwagon to help Mccain, at his prime and would most of all secure the ticket for conservatives. He's definately a quality person and has a beautiful family. He represents family values and gives us hope for the future. We'll be most disappointed if Mccain does not see his wonderful
values. M&M SWEET 2008!!!!!!!
Anthony Roberts from Tifton, GA
Mitt Romney is exactly what this country needs. If anyone knows how the economy works it would definately be him. Washington is running through our money, Medicare is in shambles, Social Security is non-existent, and our school system is failing our children. Mr. Romney's business skills are perfectly suited for handling this type of situation. Washington is broken. Good luck Mr. McCain and Mr. Romney and God Bless.
April from Bonita Springs , FL
To everyone: The Republican National Committee needs to hear that REAL CONSERVATIVES want ROMNEY as VP!!! Please call them and tell them unless Romney's on the ticket you will abstain from voting. I will abstain if not. RNC: 1-202-863-8500, press 1 and leave a message. Please flood the RNC with calls!!!
FRANK from MIAMI, FL
I am having a difficult time pulling the lever right now for Sen. McCain. However if Mitt Romney were on the ticket I would not only support Sen. McCain for president but I would take the whole month of October off up until the election and campaign throughout south Florida if governor Romney is the VP. We are in a time of unprecidented history and we need someone who truly understands the economy and our founding fathers values and beliefs. Mitt Romney is that man.
Jim from Naples , FL
Mitt is the best candidate for VP and McCain should be thrilled that Gov. Romney is willing to be HIS VP!!! If Romney is not the VP running mate, I doubt I'll vote for McCain. I don't want to see TWO liberal RINO's in the WH. Romney was my choice for president! MITT FOR VP!
Derek from Greenwood, IN
Economic Experience. Proven Leadership. Youthful Outlook. Romney will employ responsibility as paramount value & he can help McCain paint a stark contrast to the Democrat candidate's empty slogans.
Rusty, AL
I created a petition to gather votes of supporters of Mitt for VP; it is found at http://yesmittvp.com
April from Bonita Springs , FL
Gov. Mitt Romney is my former governor when I lived in Mass. I now live in FL. He has a lot of integrity, smarts, and knows how to work with Democrats and Republicans. He's great at team building and getting things done!!! He eliminated a $3 BILLION deficit the Dem's created, wll without raising taxes. He is what this country needs right now -- the economy is in the crapper and he's just the guy to fix it! MITT FOR VP!!!
Neil Justice from Myrtle Beach, SC
Mitt Romney is the most qualified second in charge and will compliment the Republican Presidential Party ticket.
Adam from Miami, FL
Mitt is the future of our party! His expertise, carisma, and values will help lead our ticket to victory and lead our country in the direction it should go! McCain/Romney '08!!
Shaun from Indianapolis, IN
Without Mitt, McCain runs the risk of losing the conservative inertia of the Republican party.
KKSM, UT
Go here to sign an petition for Mitt as VP: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/romneyvp/signatures.html
Chek out my earlier post for where to write to encourage McCain to commit to Mitt
Ryan from Dallas, TX
Hmmmmm...a corporate turn-around expert who made his fortune by getting companies to run their operations efficiently. The tax & spend machine that we call our Federal government is about 200+ years overdue for someone like Mitt.
Steve Crain from Mustang, OK
Thanks Mr. Harlin. Love your site and the potential ticket
If John McCain chooses Mike Huckabee, this long time conservative will vote for Obama (as a protest) or perhaps independent.
Also, IF McCain does not choose Romney, you should consider organizing a massive "Write-in" campaign for Mitt in the November general election.
Again, thanks for organizing this site.
Madelyn from San Clemente, CA
There is too much at stake NOT to pick Romney. He is a sure-fire way to bring Senator McCain to the White House in November. Radical, extreme leftists like Hillary and Obama will absolutely be the downfall of our great nation. With Romney on the GOP ticket, we will surely beat them this fall and in doing so we will save our country from severe economic, fiscal, and social disaster!!! We need Mitt! Go M&M!!!
Amanda from San Clemente, CA
Mitt is so well-qualified, and incredibly experienced. He has a proven record on conservative issues, too. He'll bring the conservative vote! And we desperately need his economic expertise in this country right now. Save our values, our jobs, and our economy. Pick someone who's ready to lead alongside you, Senator McCain. PICK MITT!
Melanie from Lake Stevens, WA
Mitt makes John McCain a winning ticket in 08 for conservative, moderate and independent voters.
Brian from Iona, ID
Mitt would be great! His business experience is what our ailing economy needs.
Justin Bridegan from Jacksonville, FL
Mitt Romney is a class act and should defintely be the VP choice for many.
Edward from Richmond Hill, GA
SELECTING MITT FOR VP WILL GO A LONG WAY IN HELPING SEN MCCAIN ENERGIZE THE GOP/CONSERVATIVE BASE THAT HE'LL NEED TO WIN THE GENERAL ELECTION.
Anita from Rockville, MD
Where do I get a T-shirt, bumper sticker, etc.?
McCain*Romney '08
This is the way to go. With Mitt's Business experience maybe McCain & Romney can pull the U.S. out of the mire it is in today.
Stacey from Marshall, ID
Let's do it! He is an excellent choice!
David from Evansville, IN
My Man Mitt! Great duo M&M!
Mike from Austin, TX
When I click the link to donate to the McCain campaign, is that tracked? I would love to donate to McCain through this site so the McCain people can see what support for Mitt would mobilize for him.
Darlene from Island Lake, IL
McCain will get my vote only if Mitt is on the ticket.
Mary from Felton, DE
I agree that we really need Mitt Romney in office to help turn the economy around. He has the knowledge, vitality and energy to do the right thing. However, there seem to be more people interested in entitlements instead of working to support themselves. The Democrats want to keep people dependent on them so they have control and that takes free agency away from people. We need for people to become self sufficient and to do their part to help the country, not just to sit at home waiting for a check to come each month, or worse to take money from the taxpayers that they wouldn't really need if they were gainfully employed.
Laurie Berger from Commerce, MI
I worked for Mitt's campaign in Michigan and was never so proud of a candidate. I would love for Mitt to be on the ticket with McCain. Mitt can bring a working knowledge of economics, and sound policies with regard to health care. McCain/Mitt in '08!
Connie from Winter Garden, FL
There was only one truely qualified candidate for President this year from either party and that was Mitt Romney. I'm keeping my bumper strip on my car just in case.
Phyllis from Dallas, TX
McCain desperately needs Romney's economic know-how, and can bring the US out of the debt in which we are currently. Not only that, but Romney might change McCain's views on the immigration issue which is high on the Americans' list.
Brandon from Wakefield, MA
There is no greater leader expressly qualififed to be our Vice Preswident than Gov. Mitt Romney. As a Massacusetts resident, I've experienced first hand the changes he made in our state and I hope he has the opportunity to bring his vision to Washington.
Roger from Woodland Park, CO
It's either a McCain/Romney ticket or I write in "Donald Duck". None of these candidates McCain, Clinton or Obama have any business running for or holding the position of President of the United States. I am 64 years old and in my entire life I’ve never seen so un-qualified a group of people running for President. Mitt Romney is the only bright light in the bunch.
Brenda from Holden, MA
As far as I'm concerned, Mitt is the only person who can energize the ticket and generate some real excitement in the Republican party.
Denise from Boston, MA
Mitt is a man of character, intellect, and integrity who can resolve our economic issues and protect conservative values...do we really need anything else to round out a strong republican ticket??
michael beydoun from detroit, MI
Mitt for veep this is the dream tiket and we will get the white house for the next 12 years
Brenda from Silsbee, TX
It's the smartest thing McCain can do for the American people whom love America. You got my vote and the votes of my very large family if Romney is McCain's running mate. Go McCain and Romney all the way to the White House !!!!!!
M from San Diego, CA
I do not want to vote for McCain unless Romney is VP. And I know A LOT of people who feel the same way, because of the way McCain and his team behaved during the debates and the primaries - misquoting Romney, interrupting and talking over Romney during the debates, and the whole political scandal (in my opinion) of McCain's team giving up votes in the WV caucuses, etc. just so Romney wouldn't win. McCain knew who was most likely to beat him in the primaries, and if he had any sense he would choose that most qualified person as his VP - Romney all the way. At least then I'd know there was some honesty and conservativism in the white house.
Marilyn Farrell from Moreno Valley, CA
Will vote for McCain with Romney on the ticket!
Tiffany, CA
Mitt for VP is the only sure way of attaining the presidency this Nov. Mitt has the experience and the values that is greatly needed in this country! Mitt for VP will def. bring conservatives together. He's a great man who will greatly help our country during our economic crisis. Vote for the M&M ticket!
Aaron from Spanish Fork, UT
Considering the fact that McCain could croak over at any moment - it seems only necessary to throw a man on the ticket that would be ready to take over on day one.... Mitt Romney!
Spencer from Sparks, NV
As our economy is in a questionable state, he is the only one with the background to take us out of this crisis. He also has solid plans on immigration, the war, and fixing the health care plan without going socialized. Also, with Mccain having trouble winning the true conservative vote, Mitt would help win over these voters, keeping a republican in office.
SEIKO from Peoria, AZ
Mitt Romney will bring the victory to the Republicans.
I love M & M ticket!!
Julie from Bloomingdale, IL
Mitt Romney is the only logical choice for Vice President. Conservatives such as myself, would gladly vote for Senator McCain were he to choose Mitt Romney as his running mate. The two would complement each other, McCain's strength in foreign affairs and Romney's strength on the economy.
McCain/Romney 2008!
Scott from Blaine, WA
Mitt Romney brings a fresh perspective to Washington D.C. and will help McCain truly reform the Federal Government. He has proved himself to be honest, successful and creative. He is also ready to step into the presidency if John McCain's health fails. Together, they are the complete package - completely unbeatable by either democrat.
Chris from Syracuse, UT
Send the word to McCain: No Mitt, No Money and NO HOPE TO WIN.
KKSM, UT
Ok, all you Mitt supporters, get on the email, snail mail and phone and communicate to John McCain that your support deepens if he has Mitt on the ticket. Mitt is too good of a man to not be in there and there is way too much at stake!
cpac@conservative.org; chairman@gop.org; http://www.johnmccain.com/Contact/

Eric from Dothan, AL
I have met both John McCain and Mitt Romney. They are both very honorable men and would be the perfect fusion of two Republican stars! McCain/Romney '08 would get my vote over Obama/Richardson (or hopefully Clinton/Bayh).
Vanessa from Spring, TX
Mitt would bring some youth, energy and charm to the ticket. We need some one to also bring in some true conservative values and knows how to share them with the coutry.
Jim from Boise, ID
Romney is absolutely the best choice for McCain's VP. He has the economic expertise that is urgently needed, and he will bring disenchanted conservatives back into the McCain camp.
laura from Fort White, FL
MITT IS MY CHOICE! Remember the..."its the economy, stupid?"; well, it
is and we need someone strong enough to broker deals from business to
Capital Hill. If not VP, Cabinet position.
Glenn from Irvington, AL
It's the economy! Mitt's the businessman!
Sean from Monroe, GA
I was a big supporter of Mitt during the primaries and I would love to see McCain add him to the ticket. McCain/Romney '08 I would def buy a bumper sticker for that.
Kevin from Salt Lake City , UT
With all of this talk about a "dream" ticket from the Democrats, this is the real "dream" lineup and it would give either Hilary or Barack nightmares!
Gloria from Wichita, KS
MITT FOR THE ECONOMY..MITT FOR CONSERVATIVES..MITT FOT THE FUTURE
joe from isle of palms, SC
have donated a monthly amount on your recommendation to mr mccains presidential campaign. go mccain-romney.
Matt from West Bridgewater, MA
I've been a Mitt supporter since his days as Governor of Massachusetts and his business experience and youthful enthusiasm perfectly complement McCain's campaign. Mitt as VEEP will rejuvenate the conservative base and all but guarantee victory in November.

Mitt should really be President. McCain will be forced to choose him if this effort works.
Rob from Lexington, KY
I am a conservative and I will NOT vote for John McCain unless Mitt Romney is on the ticket. I am still disgusted in McCain and Huckabee's Romney bashing, lies and their revolting actions during the Virgina primary.
Shawn from Albuquerque, NM
I would feel much better about voting for McCain if Romney was also on the ticket. I stongly supported Romney in his bid for president. I aggree with most of his positions on the issues, I believe he is a truly great American, and I would be very excited to see him involved in the upcoming election.
Steven from Tomball, TX
Romney's intellect with McCain's candor, I'd vote for the ticket!
Jeff from Palatine, IL
Mitt definitely strengthens the ticket! McCain/Romney 2008!!!
Jacqueline from Coalville, UT
Mitt Romney has the talent, leadership and business sense to help our economy, grow respect for our wonderful United States, and bring government down to size. He is the only candidate that will bring a truly conservative face to the Republican ticket.
Matt from Evansville, IN
Given our economic downturn, Mitt Romney would be an excellent choice.
alec from east grand rapids, MI

Nancy from Sarasota, FL
This is THE tix to beat the Democrats! What a combination. I'm waiting to order my bumpersticker.
Sunny Collins from Palm Desert, CA
Mitt Romney is an intelligent and principled and a problem solver extraordinarie. McCain would be well served to select him as a running mate.
Dean from Panama City, FL
Mccain and Mitt would make a perfect match. Mccain on security and Mitt on the economy.
Chuck from Lenoir City, TN
I might actually vote for McCain if he chooses Romney as his running mate. At the moment I'm leaning toward Dr. Alan Keyes as someone I would vote for because he represents my values, even if he has no chance of winning. Of course I would support Romney for president if he runs again in four or eight years.
Brian from Cobbs, AL
No one has more credibility to fix the economy, and the dollar, than Mitt!
Great site!
Bruce from East Rochester, NH
Its time to take out the trash in washington, and restore some HONESTY!!
I hate to see Mitt bored in the Senate as president of the Senate , but its a start, if he is willing. This ticket would landslide ANY Democratic ticket.
"WE WANT MITT", We Want Mitt........... :) here we go!!!!
Mike from Oldsmar, FL
Mitt Romney was my first choice! I would contribute to the party if he is the choice for VP. Otherwise I will hunker down and clean my rifle. The communist bear is at the door! I have not contributed since Bush/2004; and I doubt I will for 2008 unless Romney is involved. Bush will be considered a great president in history- don't listen to the idiots on TV
Charles from Knob Noster, MO
If McCain gets elected, Mitt can't run for 8years. I don't want that! But as VP he has his foot in the door in 8years. If McCain don't win, Mitt has it Presidency in 4 years! Or the way no one wants to talk about if VP he has it as soon as McCain died.!?
